Letters of Walter Sickert to Florence Pash: transcribed and edited by Violet Overton-Fuller

Scope and Content

‘Letters from Walter Sickert to Florence Pash’, edited and transcribed by Violet Overton Fuller. A first draft of a manuscript, typed with hand-made corrections, and is about the life of Florence Pash and W.R. Sickert, illustrated through the letters sent to Pash from Sickert. The manuscript includes copies of the letters transcribed and edited by Violet Overton Fuller (mother of Jean Overton Fuller, author of Sickert and the Ripper Crimes, 1990). The letters are undated but probably from around 1890s. Violet Overton Fuller was friends with Florence Pash and was asked by Miss Pash to help her publish the letters.

Some of the letters discuss the art classes they gave at The New English Art Club. Also one letter is asking her to sit for him. Some also talk about his work, and its progression, and talk of meeting arrangements.
