Scope and Content

Operated camera. Operator pans and zooms to follow dancers. 00:00:00 Gym location. Visible counter onscreen bottom right. Groups of young people take part in Company Class led by Michele Braban and Steven Brett (Rehearsal Directors, Rambert Dance Company). They also rehearse works from the Company repertory. Not continuous footage. Recording stops and restarts. 00:32:59 cut to static camera. Near distance. Jane Pritchard (Archivist, Rambert Dance Company) gives a talk about how Marie Rambert became interested in dance and formed the Company. Prichard then gives a brief synopsis of the company history. Recording incomplete, end of Jane Prichard's talk not recorded. Recording ends while she talks about the Richard Alston period in the 1980s. She uses a slideshow of still images from the Company's historical repertoire to illustrate her points.
