Augustus De Morgan (1806-71), mathematician and historian, Trinity College Cambridge (1823-27), Professor of Mathematics at University College London (1828-31, 1836-66), writer on mathematical, philosophical and antiquarian points. William Hepworth Dixon (1821-79), historian and traveller, was editor of The Athenaeum (1853-69). 37 letters, AUGUSTUS DE MORGAN to WILLIAM HEPWORTH DIXON (1856-68), on De Morgan's reviews of books and articles for The Athenaeum; with [38] letter, DE MORGAN to J.G___STENBERG[?] (1868), on possibility of Dixon standing for Parliament.
