Arms Park (Cardiff) Greyhound Racing Company Limited, Records

Scope and Content

Administrative / Biographical History

During the late 1920s the Arms Park (Cardiff) Greyhound Racing Company Limited reached an agreement with Cardiff Athletic Club, the owners of the Arms Park, to race dogs. The additional income from racing assisted the Athletic Club in its maintenance and modernisation of the stadium. The first races were held in 1928 and the regular Monday and Saturday meetings were well attended. However interest in the sport declined after the Second World War and the last race was held at the Arms Park in the late 1970s.
