LETTERS: Auntie Glad [Jane Gwladus Hopkins Jones], The Cottage, and 27 Waterloo Road, Wolverhampton [for Christmas] to Hugh [Virgo Williams] sorry to hear Jill has caught mumps from the children. Nancy heard that her uncle Bill died yesterday. She encloses a dividend which has just arrived and a list of Auntie Gwen's debts she has paid; £98.1s.9d. Her only other debt is to the bank. Thanks him for the Christmas gift of bed socks. They have arrived at Wolverhampton, met at the station by Cyril, Elizabeth and Gwennie. Molly and John's Mary arrived yesterday. Kitty and Frank are well. Frank Junior has been promoted to Lieut. Colonel and is being transferred back to Ottawa. Uncle Frank was 90 on May 19th. The cheque for £4.16.9d. is for insurance on the house. The insurance with Century is on the furniture. Your mother is better and came down on Christmas and Boxing Day. They have not told her about Auntie Gwen yet for fear of ill effect.
