Still described as the British Export Journal for Textiles and Fashion, published by I.T. Publications Ltd. in London. Offices in 73 countries. Advertisers now regularly indexed. Contents briefly tabled, with longer tri-lingual summaries. Regular Thinking Ahead feature continues, also up dated information on British Trademarks. More promotional material, but also more features of general design interest.

1948 Jan

No 1/1948. Front cover design of dots and stripes links with main feature of same name, third in Design Elements series dealing with animal markings, linear design, calligraphy etc. Articles on London Wholesalers' trends for export, foundation garments and British carpets.

1948 Feb

No 2/1948. Opening feature on London Haute Couture with couturiers' versions of the New Look. Tables of selected British Standards for Women's wear (first national standards for light clothing industry). Feature on Tower of London, history and backdrop for models of children's and adult fashions.

1948 Mar

No 3/1948. Front cover of Olympic Rings links with feature on Olympic Fashions (Games to be held shortly in London). Samples from exhibition of wool fabrics for export, and of furnishing fabrics set in Shakespeare's London. Article on 'Fashion in Films' features British version of Anna Karenina.

1948 Apr

No 4/1948. Features entitled "Are Clothes Modern?" based on book of same name by Bernard Rudofsky, Editorial Director of Interior. Editorial laments inadequacies of British Textile exports to Paris. Articles on British button industry, gloves, and leather goods.

1948 May

No 5/1948. Fourth in Design Elements series features Textures, illustrating and analysing different types (viz. soft, spiky etc) articles on dress and furnishing laces, knitted couture from Scotland, Chelsea Pottery and sheepskin.

1948 June

No 6/1948. Heads with 8 page supplement on London Fashion Fortnight, with message from President of Board of Trade (Harold Wilson) and lists of exhibitors and fabric suppliers. Articles on Ulster woollens, teenage fashions, current menswear and four page feature of 'snapshots' from British Industries Fair.
