In the 1940s, New Hall, Gawsworth near Macclesfield, was converted into New Hall Clinic, a clinic for the treatment of Rheumatic Diseases. It was a private clinic for residents and non-residents, with thirty six beds. It is not known when the Clinic closed, but its closure may have been related to the new NHS.
