Administrative / Biographical History

Lisbon Street opened as an Industrial Home for Men c1892 on 36 Lisbon Street, Leeds. During its existence Lisbon Street was also designated a Poor Man's Metropole, a Hostel for Working Men and a Hostel for Men. In the 1990s Lisbon Street operated as a Centre for Men, providing accommodation for homeless men; it closed 3 October 1994.
