The majority of the records were deposited by the rector of Fifield with Idbury and the churchwarden in 1974, and transferred from the Bodleian Library in 1984. Further records were deposited in
1988 (acc. 2811) and 1994 (acc. 3850).
In 1750, the Chapelry of Swinbrook became the benefice of Idbury and in 1964 Idbury was united with Fifield to become Fifield with Idbury.
