Scope and Content
Administrative / Biographical History
Kate McNicol worked as a youth leader in the Maryhill area of Glasgow from 1963 to 1966 . During that time she compiled a report of her experiences with a view to having it published since the Youth Club was the only establishment of its kind, either voluntary or statutory, at that time. She then moved to Erskine New Community as Community Development Officer in 1971 and continued there at least until its tenth anniversary in 1981.
