Welch family bible which contains manuscript biographical information about them and their children, recorded 1871-[c 1836] and indenture of apprenticeship of Robert William Welch to his father, Charles, architect and surveyor, 1890.

Administrative / Biographical History

Robert William Welch was born in Ryde, Isle of Wight, on 2 March 1873. The first child of Charles Welch (1848-1905) and Eliza Fielder Saunders (1848-1914) who were married on the Isle of Wight on 4 November 1871. Charles Welch was an architect and surveyor. Robert's siblings included Lilian Christian (b 1874), Charles Henry (b 1876), Ethel May (1877-1910), Harold Alfred (1878-1915, killed in action in France during the First World War), Beatrice Lizzie (1881-1931) and Amy Louis (b 1882).

Robert Welch died on 13 January 1936.
