Administrative / Biographical History
The Order of St John of Jerusalem, the Knights Hospitaller, was founded during the eleventh century, and is best known for its defence of the Holy Land during the Crusades. In later years the Order was based at Rhodes, Malta and St Petersburg, Russia. Its headquarters today is in the United States.
