Incomplete letter to [S W]. Charles joined with the members of the Society 'in the spirit of prayer & love for an hour & an half. My body was stronger AFTER the labours of the day than BEFORE them'.
[Martin] Madan and his mother joined them until almost eight. They prayed for success against the French, whose attempt [to invade] is very worrying. Troops are hastening to set up camp in appropriate positions.
Sarah is in one of the safest places in the country [?Bristol]. He entrusts her and their children to God's care.
On Monday morning he preached at five 'with little life'.
He will probably stay here for about three weeks more.
Charles had breakfast this morning with the 'Saxon' or Prussian minister.
