Register of Home Patients and Fees Received

Scope and Content

This volume gives details of patients' names, addresses and payments for treatment: these payments were made in installments often starting before the confinement. It contains patients attended by the maternity hospital's district midwife. The hospital ceased to provide such a midwife from July 1937, when the 1936 Midwives Act came into force in York and nine municipal midwives were employed to undertake district work.
