Papers regarding the redevelopment of The Queen Mother’s Maternity Hospital on the Yorkhill site

Administrative / Biographical History

In 1997 Yorkhill NHS Trust received Scottish Office approval to continue to explore a Private Finance Initiative (PFI) for a new £10m Queen Mother’s Hospital on the Yorkhill site, adjacent to medical genetics, with a link corridor leading to the area of ward 2A. This was intended to have 60 beds, incorporating a labour suite and operating theatres, an ambulatory facility and ultrasound and outpatient facilities. Work was expected to start at Christmas 1997 and be ready for patients in June 1999.

This project never happened.
