There were five research workers who, along with their research interests, were Mr Kitson, who left shortly after the last report, Mr Somerford (effect of histamine on blood sugar concentration), Miss Stephen (effect of anaesthesia on metabolism), Dr Smirk (devised an accurate haemocrit method which leaves the gaseous tensions of the blood unchanged), and Morrell Roberts (c.350 gastric analyses of different types relating to various aspects of gastric function).
