B5-Crystallographic Measurements

Scope and Content

These notes aren't dated, but again it is assumed they originate from Wilkinson's time studying under Sir Henry A. Miers (1858-1942).

They include measurements of several organobismuth compounds including dichlorophenylbismuthine (BiPh3Cl2), triphenylbismuthine difluoride (BiPh3F2), diphenylthiocyanobismuthine (Ph2BiSCN or Bi(C6H5)2SCN). Some of these measurements seem to relate to Wilkinson's paper on the organo-derivatives of bismuth submitted in support of his dissertation for his Ph.D. (see JFW/1/21).

There are additional notes on topaz, finding indices, and formulae used in crystallography.
