      1 vol. (207 ff.) Modern pencil foliation. Ff.6-7, 136-141, 180-99, 201-2, and 204-5 are blank. Ff.178-9 are in the hand of Anthony Higgin; the rest of the volume is written in an earlier hand, possibly that of his uncle, William Birch. Leather binding, with tie. There are parchment manuscript fragments containing Latin text in the binding.

Scope and Content

Contains: (1) ff.1-5: various jottings, including some proverbial sayings in Hebrew on ff.3-4r; (2) ff.8-106: headed "Bucerus" and apparently a summary of his works in Latin, dated 1551 on f.106v; (3) f.109: De ecclesiae bonis et ministeriis; (4) f.110: a few Hebrew proverbs, including Proverbs chapter 14, verse 33; (5) f.112v: De magistratu et legibus; (6) 115v: Scripsit D.Martinus Bucerus...de eucharistia et coena Domini; (7) f.118v onwards: on original sin, justification, good works, baptism, Lord's supper, confession, etc.; (8) f.134v: De restauratione collegi; (9) f.135: De administratione schola; (10) f.135v: De coelibatu sacerdotis; (11) ff.142-176r: theological writings by Iacobus Pylkynton dated 1551; (12) f.177: "e libro p. ioh. Oporinum 1557 edito de fide collegi"; (13) f.178: "Nicolas Hemigius in Psal. 25 ... ex Georg. Maior"
