A collection of 4510 papers including, draft and copy leases, conveyances, mortgages, abstracts of title, property deeds and other documents relating to properties in the counties of Anglesey, Caernarfon, Denbigh, Flint, Merioneth, Montgomery and mixed counties and parishes (including the Maenan estate in Caernarvonshire, Anglesey and Denbighshire), and the English counties of Hereford, Lancashire, Somerset and Devon. They also include personalia, including financial papers and correspondence.

Administrative / Biographical History
Carter Vincent was a prominent and family run firm of solicitors at Bangor, North Wales. The early family members were clerics but the solicitor profession soon took over. Carter Vincent became the solicitors of the Diocese of Bangor and also of the Penrhyn Castle Estate.

Acquisition Information
Some of the papers were deposited in 1951 by Messrs Carter Vincent and co., solicitors, Bangor. Another set of papers was deposited in 1969 and a third set in ca.1993.
