Scope and Content

The Committee was established in 1961 to oversee the appointment of senior experimental and experimental officers (mainly in the Faculties of Science and Technology). Originally, a committee of Senate, it later became a joint committee, and included representatives from UMIST. The Committee was responsible for general issues relating to the terms and conditions of these posts, as well as approving specific appointments and promotions. The Committee is believed to have continued in existence until c.1995
