Scope and Content

Captain Stavert was Chairman of the Executive Committee for the National Vigilance Association. The yearly event was to appeal for funds, which were used to help young girls who came to work in London from rural areas. More often than not they arrived to find no work and themselves stranded. The National Vigilance Association sought to provide them accommodation and eventually employment.
