Acquisition Information

Deposited with the Borthwick Institute by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust in 2014.


The site was designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest in 1983 for its valuable woodland pasture and invertebrate assemblage. The site is now part of the larger Castle Hill Deer Park and Windy Pits SSSI, notified 2012.

Conditions Governing Use

A reprographics service is available to researchers. Copying will not be undertaken if there is any risk of damage to the document. Copies are supplied in accordance with the Borthwick Institute for Archives' terms and conditions for the supply of copies, and under provisions of any relevant copyright legislation. Permission to reproduce images of documents in the custody of the Borthwick Institute must be sought.

Appraisal Information

The file was weeded for duplicates by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust staff prior to deposit. Material of insufficient archival value has been removed and returned to the Trust's record store in Wakefield, West Yorkshire.
