Administrative / Biographical History
Age Concern Barking and Dagenham delivers support and care services to the elderly across the borough and is a Federation member of Age Concern England. The organisation was established 60 years ago to 'enable older people living in Barking and Dagenham to maintain their dignity, independence and choice with the support that is necessary for a fulfilled life through the provision of relevant, accessible and high quality services that compliment those provided by statutory services'.
The Barking and Dagenham Branch of Age Concern provides day centre services, some of which specialise in supporting residents suffering with dementia and their carers, as well as a range of other community activities, which include Active Age Centres, befriending, advice and information services, health, home and personal care.
