Sketches in water-colour and sepia by Dean Liddell of buildings and scenery in Great Britain, France, Switzerland, Madeira, etc., in the second half of the 19th century.

Henry George Liddell (1811-1898) was Dean of Christ Church Oxford, 1856-1891. Details are given in the Dictionary of National Biography.

The sketches were bought from G.A. Poynder, Reading bookseller, in 1911.
