Described the legation of Carlo Ambrogio Mezzabarba, Patriarch of Alexandria, from Pope Clement X to the Emperor K'ang-Hsi, Mezzabarba's mission was to negotiate acceptance of the constitution Ex illa die of March 19, 1715, condemning the Chinese rites. An account of the legation by Viani, with a different title, was published at Parigi in 1739. This manuscript is described on the fly-leaf as "unpubl. MSS."
