Administrative / Biographical History

The British Association for Commercial Education was formed in 1930 or 1931 and in 1934 it merged with the Association for Education in Industry and Commerce (formed in 1919) to form the British Association for Commercial and Industrial Education. In 1994 BACIE ceased its operations and its commercial activities were taken over by the Institute of Personnel and Development (IPD).
