Colliery Trading Results Record

Scope and Content

Colliery trading results record for National Coal Board, South Western Division for 1953. Each sheet contains information on period number, colliery code, saleable output, O.M.S., E.M.S. average, wages (cost per ton), total (cost per ton), total, per ton saleable (profit or loss) and surplus export proceeds for total area, total working collieries, total closed collieries. Statistics are shown for individual collieries in the following areas: No.1 Swansea, No.2 Maesteg, No.3 Rhondda, No.4 Aberdare, No.5 Rhymney, No.6 Monmouthshire, No.7 Dean Forest, No.8 Bristol and Somerset and No.9 Neath. Also includes five colliery trading results records for the National Coal Board, South Eastern division (comprising of sheets for the division generally, Betteshanger, Chislet, Snowdown and Tilmanstone collieries).
