Administrative / Biographical History
Alexander Bassett was a civil and mining engineer, and held that position for some of the largest mineral proprietors in Glamorgan. In conjuction with Mr Abernethy, he designed and carried out the Alexandra Dock, Newport. [Taken from Bassett's obituary, South Wales Daily News, 12 Apr 1887.]
