Juan Alfonso Guerra y Sandoval is described on the title page as 'Cavallero del Orden de Santiago, Chronista, y Rey de Armas, de S. Mgd. Cavallerizo de la Reyna; Comisario de la Artilleria de Espana, y Reyno de Toledo, y su Baston; y Rexidor perpetuo en estado y Banco de Cavalleros de la Ciud. de Toledo'.
