Volumes of transcripts of parish registers etc relating to the Tonge family

This collection of 48 manuscripts consists of 41 volumes of notes, memoranda etc made by William Asheton Tonge (1860-1936) when he was working on various families and places in the North West (see D.1.1-25 and D.2.1-16). The majority of the manuscripts are concerned with the history of the Tonge family and its connections. D.2.17, 18, 20, 21, 22 and 23 are original manuscripts owned by Tonge and are not part of his collection of transcripts. D.2.19 consists of printed material relating to the Agricultural College at Cirencester.
