Scope and Content

Four letters to Doreen Cornthwaite from solicitors H. Dudley Grayson and Co., of Millom, and one letter from their successor firm W.C. Kendall and Fisher, relating to NCN's estate and including references to: the memorial service in September 1987; NCN's bequest of his twentieth-century poetry books (other than his own works) to the John Rylands University Library, Manchester; the gift of the remainder of his book collection of twentieth-century poetry to the same library by Rosemary Joyce, into whose possession it came after his death; her further arrangement for depositing NCN's archive with the John Rylands University Library; arrangements for Doreen Cornthwaite to receive the bronze head of NCN, which was left to her in his will; payment of her legacy from the will; and the Norman Nicholson Memorial Fund, set up by Millom Town Council. With one additional envelope from H. Dudley Grayson and Co., postmarked 11 June 1987 but without an accompanying letter.
