Correspondence and papers relating to Norman Nicholson's literary legacy

Scope and Content

This group of material consists of correspondence, printed ephemera and other papers, most of which relate in some way to NCN's literary legacy and posthumous reputation as a writer. The papers include references to: events such as exhibitions relating to NCN; other memorials to him, ranging from poems by Matt Simpson to the NCN Memorial Window designed by Christine Boyce and installed in St George's Church, Millom, in 2000; the posthumous publication of NCN's works - including Irvine Hunt's edition of his topographical writings, Norman Nicholson's Lakeland (1991), and the possibility of Faber issuing a Collected poems; Andrew F. Wilson's bibliography of NCN's work; researchers working on NCN; and biographical interest in him. Correspondents represented include the poet Matt Simpson, writer Alan Hankinson, and a copy letter from Craig Raine.
