Press cuttings which have been collected by Birkbeck College on an ongoing basis since the 1860s and mounted in large volumes. News stories and magazine articles about the history and development of the College, College events (Centenary, Founders' Day, Royal visits, opening of new buildings, reviews of student theatrical and operatic productions etc.), senior staff (including obituaries), and broader topics relating to higher education and academic research. Some photographic prints and programmes for theatrical and operatic productions have have been stuck into the press cuttings books.
