Administrative / Biographical History
H.B. Pratt was born in Birkenhead in 1890 and grew up in Sunderland. He joined the 7th Durham Light Infantry (Territorial Battalion) in 1914, but transferred in 1915 to train as a signaller. He served as a sapper with the Royal Engineers in East Africa, 1916-1918.
