Letter received regarding the question of opening up the reaches of the Ribble above Settle to salmon. Objections include that is that the river is unsuitable for holding salmon, lack of food, poaching is bound to increase, and having parr may spoil trout fishing.
Letter from the Vice Chairman of the Lune Board of Conservators regarding Ribble Head. Cam Beck and Gayle Head were both explored and conclusions were that they were excellent for spawning fry, and had a vast number of aquatic life. The letter argues putting passes in these Weirs would improve brown trout fishing above Settle Weirs.
