Scope and Content

The bishop of St Asaph (Blithfield near Lichfield) to Rev Hope Wynne Eyton (Leeswood near Mold): agrees that Ruthyn [Ruthin] and Wrexham schools were sufficient for higher education in the Mold area and that instruction in the 3Rs was all that was called for. He rejoiced that the corn markets were falling in Flintshire and that the levies for defence were being submitted to. Such was not the case elsewhere in the diocese. There had been disorders in cos. Merioneth, Montgomery and Salop.

(NLW 1462).
