Scope and Content

Sir R. Mostyn (London) to Rev. H.W. Eyton (Wrexham): was glad that the disturbances in the county had been effectually stopped and hoped they would find the leaders. Opposition to inclosures sometimes had 'some Colour of Excuse on the Part of the poorer People', but when 'under the Mask of such Grievance They are incited to murmur against all Order and to be dissatisfied with their Situation, the Mischief requires the severest Check' [endorsed "about Enclosure Riots"].

(NLW 1758).
