From William Henry Channing to James C. Street, dated at 3 Campden House Road, Huntingdon. Channing's address is given as a residence in Scotland. Channing writes that he has just received Street's note from the 16th which asked for a statement of the facts concerning the last words of Rev. W.E Channing on his death bed. The letter details a rumour that was mentioned to Street by another Unitarian minister he encountered who stated that the Reverend's last words were to renounce his faith. Channing fiercely denies this throughout the letter and asks Street to correct the gentlemen concerned stating that, on the contrary, W.E. Channing's last words were true to his religion until the end.
