From James Martineau and Rev. F. Baker to [?]. Martineau speaks of attending the Provincial meeting and states that he will not refuse any duty that is incumbent on him to accept. However Martineau makes it clear that he will not hunt for something to say through the range of topics and without the superintendence of the chairman; confusion and discrepancy would result. He reassures Baker that he would follow orders and says he is willing to join any plan that the meeting decides upon. He adds that he is reluctant to make any appeal to the laity in relation to their expenses.
