From Philip M [?] to Rev. F. Baker. Philip writes to remind Baker about a correspondence they had some time ago about Baker's proposed plan for a library and museum, and the offer Philip made of acquiring a collection of shells. Philip has heard that the plans have now been put on hold. Since that time Philips has collected around 300 species, which he feels would make a nice nucleus of a collection. He explains the pains he has gone through to acquire some rare species and asks if the Reverend would buy them and advance the money, and sends a list of what the collection contains. He also has interest from Hull. He asks Baker if he could send the letter on to others who would be interested.
