Scope and Content

Correspondence between Harry Rawson and John H. Thom concerning the nature of 'free churches', 'non-subscribing churches' and Unitarians. Thom wishes to exclude those calling themselves Unitarian from a body they are working with, and cites support from Martineau in enclosed document (returned by Rawson). Rawson states that their suggestions have been discussed, that they cannot agree with their views, and declines to remove the word 'Unitarian' from 'the Programme', stating that the 'word is with us, and is part of the common property of our churches'.
