Scope and Content

From C. Wallace to F. Baker. Writes to give Baker the news that their friend, Patterson of Stourbridge is dead due to inflammation of the lungs brought on by influenza at age 52. Wallace describes how Patterson had to end the sermon he was giving abruptly on the previous Sunday and never recovered. His son was urgently called for and arrived shortly before his death. Their are some concerns mentioned about the service at the funeral. Wallace believes his relatively early death was due to the burden of preaching.

Dated at Hale Lodge.
