Bundle of letters

Scope and Content

Large collection of correspondence. Most of it appears to be that of James McLellan who was the Honorary Secretary of the Ministerial Fellowship at the time.

Correspondence on a variety of routine matters along with accounts for 1984 and committee minutes for January 1985. Correspondence concerning the following: stipends, redundancy, training, the 'Development Commission', student pastorates, mentors, rules, pensions. Proceedings relating to serious complaints about a particular minister; a typescript booklet stamped 'confidential' concerning disputes among Unitarians in Leeds and correspondence (some stamped 'confidential') concerning the appointment of ministers to particular chapels.

Documents were originally arranged in smaller bundles stored in plastic wallets. These bundles seem to represent particular topics, or correspondence with particular individuals. The original order has been maintained.
