Administrative / Biographical History
George Street was born in 1854 at Middlewich, Cheshire. He worked in the building trade prior to attending the Nottingham Congregational Institute in 1879, and became a Congregational minister in 1883. He held ministerial posts at Long Stratton, St Helens and Salford, resigning from the latter on his conversion to Unitarianism. He became a Unitarian minister at Blackley in 1893, moving to Hartington Road Church, Buxton in 1898 and retiring in 1928. He died on 10 April 1933 at Darley Dale, Derbyshire.
