Letter thanking David for his moving Elegy and he is sure that Pippa would have felt proud to be remembered with such a poem. Nicholson reassures David by writing and the best either of us can do is to make the most of what they have left to us. Nicholson advises David that it would be wise if he is thinking of departing to Portugal for the winter. Nicholson reports that things are pretty quiet and that he has had scarcely any invitations to read this year. He and Peggy may go off to Yorkshire for a few days.
