Administrative / Biographical History
G.A.C. Herklots (b 1902), CBE (1961) was educated at Trent College, Derbyshire,Leeds University and Trinity Hall, Cambridge. He was made Secretary forDevelopment, Hong Kong, 1946, Secretary for Colonial AgriculturalRes[ources] and Secretary of the Committee for Colonial Agriculture, AnimalHealth and For[estry] Res[ources], Colonial Office, 1948. He served asPrincipal, I.C.T.A., from 1953.

Photographs of Tang Yin Wei's plant drawings and three books by Herklots onHong Kong trees and vegetables were sent to the University's Department of Plant Sciences, a book and offprint on fish to the Radcliffe Science Library.
