Scope and Content

Include : notes on wedding proceedure; a short memorandum of Burton's Anatomy of Melancholy; 2 tickets for the Crystal Palace, Sydenham, (1862); a love token (anon.); homilies; jokes and puns; poems; good resolutions for her future as wife, wife and mother, or spinster; a "Confession and Form of Covenant" in M K's hand but over the name of Edward Payton; a small notebook with notes on the history of the rulers of France from Pharamond to Louis Napoleon, and inscribed : "Minnie James. Question Book"; notes (not in her hand) of a sermon delivered in Westminster Chapel by Rev. S. Martin (1858); engravings etc, of various clergymen, and one of Wrexham Church tower.
