In an interview with Burgess ("Anthony Burgess, The Art of Fiction No. 48"), published in the Paris Review, Burgess states that he is "working on a novel intended to express the feel of England in Edward III’s time, using Dos Passos’ devices." See Paris Review, Spring 1973, number 56.
