The entries in this diary / notebook have mostly been made by Burgess and include:

1) diary entry, dated 4 February 1958;

2) list of literary works by Burgess;

3) music score

4) "Note for Novel Plot" and "Plan for Short Story" by Lynne Wilson (nee Llewela Jones)

Burgess has made notes towards the following literary works:

1) Honey for the Bears (also known as Two, Two, the Opposites! and Honey for the Bears);

2) Nothing Like the Sun;

3) The Malayan Trilogy;

4) The Wanting Seed;

5) One Hand Clapping;

6) Devil of a State;

7) Tremor of Intent,

8) The Novel To-day

The notebook also includes notes towards several unidentified pieces.

The year on the front cover of the diary has been changed from 1958 to 1962.

Several pages have been removed from the diary and those dated 23 April - 4 May, and 28 July - 12 August,have been loosely inserted into the book.
