It would appear that for a brief period Templeton purchased carpets during the early part of the 20th century. Photographs of these carpets were pasted into albums, in which the size of the carpets might also be recorded, and sometimes the date and to whom it was later sold. 'Bk No.1' (STOD/201/1/6/1) is dated 1913, and 'Bk No. 2' (STOD/201/1/6/2) covers the time span 1913-1917, however these dates refer to the time of purchase, later dates are recorded for when individual carpets were sold. 'Bought Rugs' (STOD/201/1/6/3) covers the time period 1926-1927, however this volume is only partially filled. STOD/201/1/6/4 are a collection of loose pages from an album that are housed in an unattached cover that is clearly not original. These pages carry no contextual information except for reference numbers, which also appear in some of the photographs, the font of which suggests that it could date to the 1930s. The two undated volumes STOD/201/1/6/5/1-2 contain B&W photographs of old textiles, including both lace and embroidery samples, possibly from the Victoria & Albert Museum. One volume is missing its cover, while the other has some water damage.
